Chapter 1
1. What problems or conflicts are presented in chapter one? Tao needing to find a rabbit is an obvious one; identify at least two more.1.He loves to paint but it is not allowed,he go's to a cave that he should not go.
2. Predict the resolution of each conflict.he will paint in he's own place,he will find out not to go back to the cave.
Chapter 2
What two important events happen in this chapter? 1.he finds a wolf dog 2.He is thinking of how to get the rabbit.
Chapter 3
1. What do Tao and Ram learn to do together? 1.To hunt together.
2. What decision does Tao tell Volt? 2.That he will hunt alone.
3. Look at Tao's decisions and actions from Volt's perspective. Pretend you are Volt. Write a first person paragraph explaining how you feel.3.I am Volt the leader i did what i had to do.I got mad at Tao beacuse he is still a kid and i m in charge of food and he can not get food by himself.If i do let him go by himself other people will not have food to eat and so will Tao.

Use a quotation from the chapter.1.She is caring mother.She get's caputerd and they try to get the baby but she try's hard to protect.When she get's tierd Tao's dad just's tell her to leave the baby but she did not leave them.all beacuse he has a bad leg they try to leave him but she did not want to.But she died and he did not.That is why she is a caring mother beacuse she did not let Tao die.

1. Graybeard realizes that Tao has broken two taboos of his clan. What are they? 1.He paints,he gets a wolf dog
2. Which taboo doesn't he know about yet? 2.He can not disrespect the leader.
3. Graybeard describes Volt differently than we have. What aspects of Volt's character is Graybeard acknowledging?3.a kind person but he he dreams about demons to much.

Write your reaction to the last paragraph in the chapter.1.He was kind of smart to say that because he painted were people can see it and he can get in a lot of trouble. Do you agree or disagree with Graybeard? 2.Agree Is what he says true for those times, but not now? Chapter 8
An important theme in this novel is that people should follow their dreams and do what they believe is right, even if they don't follow their society's expected ways.
The author examines this theme in a stone age setting. Imagine a similar situation today.
What situation did you imagine? 1.A hispanic person want's to be preisdent of the united states.
In the situation you imagined, should the person follow his or her dreams or should they follow society's rules? Give your opinion. 2.He should follow his dream because later in the future some prisdent decalres that other people that were not born here become prisdent.

Why do you think Graybeard changed his mind? 1.He wanted to teach him how to draw and were to draw it.

1. Even if Ram had succeeded in hunting the deer, do you think it was a good idea of Tao's to "show off" his dog's ability to hunt?1.yes Explain.if ram shows off his abilty they might accept the wolf dog.

Write a paragraph describing your reaction.1.I was schocked in a lot of ways.first i was schocked because i thought that graybeard would live a liitle longer to teach tao.Second i was not so surprsied when volt was tao father you can tell because he helped him when he was fighting saxon.

Why does Tao feel he needs to go to the Mountain People?1.He needs to tell them that graybeard is dead and that he is the new cave painter.

Write a narrative describing what happens next. Make sure your plot has a conflict, a climax, and a resolution. You can introduce new characters if you want.1.Volt teaches tao and ram how to hunt better and later when tao is old enough he will be the new leader.He could also find a kid just like him when he gets older his name could be oat and he would teach him like graybeard taught him.That could just be the intro for the story just to let you know most of the details.
The story starts off as a peaceful day for oat.Before i continue this story is simaler to what happend to tao.so when i write this story i will only put parts that are not so simaler to tao.
